One of the casts' earliest magazine photo spread! This is a historic month in our fandom! 10 years ago, the pop-culture phenomenon known as the twilight saga began with a little-known indie film called twilight . And then all hell broke loose. The actors became stars. The books flew off shelves. The movies hit the box office worldwide. and this little-known (still is) blog was born (p/s check out my very first post here !) I know that the fandom isn't exactly as alive as it was years ago, but I'm always so happy to see the posts still gets views (either by accident, random viewers, or people do actually click on the links!!). I have to apologise for this blog not being so alive as it was back then, and I try to update as frequent as possible.  For the ones who have stuck around with this blog for the longest time, thank you. Apparently, GSCMovies have gotten the distribution rights to The Lost City of Z , but chose to release it direct to DVD instead of the big screen. You may get a copy at Speedy Video or your nearest DVD store.  If you're into books as well, the book on which the movie is based, written by David Grann, is currently in stock at MPH stores as well as MPHOnline .  The movie currently has a 87% rating on Rotten Tomatoes , with critics calling it a " visual grandeur hearken back to classic exploration epics ". 27th November, 2008. The day we, Malaysians, had our first taste of the pop culture phenomenon we call Twilight. It was 8 years ago when the craze swept the nation, and thus we became emotionally invested in Edward Cullen, Bella Swan, Jacob Black, the Cullen clan, the Quileute shapeshifters, the Swan family, and the entire universe of sparkling vampires. This unorthodox vampire movie, based on the novel written by Stephenie Meyer (#Queen), introduced us then-quite-unknown actors like Robert Pattinson (who has quite a career after this one, besides being in Harry Potter before Twilight, and also a Teen Choice Award winner), Kristen Stewart (An outstanding film career, and a Cesar Award winner) and Taylor Lautner (he's on TV, and also an MTV Movie Award winner). Life and Death , the gender-bent version of the original Twilight , is currently available in major bookstores nationwide. Look out for the hardcover with the subtitle ' Special Tenth Anniversary Edition '. Apparently, the book comes with both versions, which means you'll get another copy of Twilight attached to Life and Death . There wasn't any big announcement, so I stumbled upon the ad while channel surfing the other day. Clouds of Sils Maria is currently showing on Astro's award-winning films' channel, A-List ! Cloud of Sils Maria stars Juliette Binoche, Kristen Stewart, and Chloe Grace Moretz. It's a drama about a veteran stage star, who turns to her assistant for solace as she jousts with an arrogant younger actress. The film is directed by Olivier Assayas. The film premiered at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival, where it was In Competition for a Palme d'Or. The film airs from December 8th till 16th. The Rover has finally hit Malaysian cinemas today! Check out your local cinema listings and at CinemaOnline . For GSC, there's always their mobile app. In a dangerous near future in the Australian desert, Eric (Pearce) has left everything behind, but when his last possession is stolen by a gang of dangerous criminals, Eric sets off on a hunt to find them. Along the journey he enlists the help of Rey (Pattinson), the naïve and injured member of the gang, who was left behind. Starring Guy Pearce and Rob Pattinson, the film is directed by David Michod. The DVD and VCD for Breaking Dawn Part 2 is now available in stores. It is priced at RM 19.90 for VCD, and RM39.90 for DVD (prices may vary according to retail outlet). As I mentioned earlier , there are practically no extras on the DVD, and that's very depressing. I didn't check if they had Blu-Ray.
