Image
The Rover has finally hit Malaysian cinemas today! Check out your local cinema listings and at CinemaOnline . For GSC, there's always their mobile app. In a dangerous near future in the Australian desert, Eric (Pearce) has left everything behind, but when his last possession is stolen by a gang of dangerous criminals, Eric sets off on a hunt to find them. Along the journey he enlists the help of Rey (Pattinson), the naïve and injured member of the gang, who was left behind. Starring Guy Pearce and Rob Pattinson, the film is directed by David Michod. It's rated 18. Here's an interview with Philip Berk, which appears in The Star today! You shot The Rover in Australia. How’s it like roughing it out for a change? I liked Australia. I had only been to Sydney just to do press before. Working in the Outback was a totally different world, but I loved it out there. It was beautiful, kind of serene being able to see the horizon. There’s just absolutely nothing for

Rob Pattinson's Interview with Buzzfeed

Rob recently had an interview with Buzzfeed , mostly discussing bout The Rover , but moved on to Twilight territory for a bit.  In an interview with BuzzFeed this week in Beverly Hills, Pattinson discussed The Rover (which premiered at Cannes last month and comes out in New York and Los Angeles this weekend, and will be released nationally next Friday), and his post-Twilight career. And he has been working a lot: In addition to David Cronenberg’s Maps to the Stars, which also premiered at Cannes, he will soon appear in Werner Herzog’s Queen of the Desert, Anton Corbijn’s Life, and Olivier Assayas’ Idol’s Eye with Robert De Niro, which has not yet begun filming. As someone who tripped into huge stardom after he was cast in Twilight, and then fell into a viper’s nest of paparazzi as one-half of a tabloid couple while he dated his co-star Kristen Stewart, Pattinson, now 28, described life after Edward as a “process.” He has now lived a good portion of his life hunted, both by paps a

'Breaking Dawn Part 2' VFX Interviews

Image
Here's an oldie but a goodie. Art of VFX posted up interviews (from 2012, FYI) with two guys who worked on the special effects for Breaking Dawn Part 1 and 2 . Eric Leven , the VFX Supervisor from Tippett Studio, worked on the wolves. How was the collaboration with director Bill Condon? It was the best part of the film; Bill was incredibly collaborative and really allowed us to take the wolf scenes where we wanted to go with them. He also treated the wolves as characters, and not props or “assets”. His direction was “Jacob seems sad, but should be concerned” instead of “Jacob’s head is too low”. This is absolutely the best way to work with a director and I think made the scenes with the wolves as good as they could be. What have you done on this show? We created the all digital wolves for both BREAKING DAWN 1 and 2. Can you tell us more about the snowflakes creation? The snowflakes we generated for only for sticking in the wolves’ fur, and our effects
