The Daily Beast Interviews Catherine Hardwicke

10 years after twilight, director Catherine Hardwicke opens up to The Daily Beast on new details on the film, some we've never known before.
Ten years ago, the Twilight film franchise was an unknown quantity. In fact, Catherine Hardwicke, the director of the first Twilight, was surrounded by film executives who all but expected the vampire flick to fail.
“Nobody thought this is a big, blockbuster franchise,” Hardwicke tells the Daily Beast. “There were very low expectations for Twilight, because every other studio had turned it down. They said, OK, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants was a very popular book for girls, and it made $39 million. That’s it. We don’t know if this could ever make us any more than that, so we don’t really want to spend more than that. The expectations were low literally up to opening weekend.”

It's Twilight Month, and our birthday!!!!

This is a historic month in our fandom! 10 years ago, the pop-culture phenomenon known as the twilight sagabegan with a little-known indie film called twilight.

And then all hell broke loose.
The actors became stars. The books flew off shelves. The movies hit the box office worldwide.
and this little-known (still is) blog was born (p/s check out my very first post here!)
I know that the fandom isn't exactly as alive as it was years ago, but I'm always so happy to see the posts still gets views (either by accident, random viewers, or people do actually click on the links!!). I have to apologise for this blog not being so alive as it was back then, and I try to update as frequent as possible.
