David Slade talk gore in Eclipse

Image
David Slade is known for his dark-theme movies, especially 30 Days of Night and Hard Candy . So, transitioning from R-rated movies to good ol' PG13 is quite interesting. FEARnet discussed this matter and more with Mr Slade.

David Slade tweeted from the Eclipse , describing a scene with Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart. Yesterday Taylor had to carry Kristen for several hours, he held it together - hope he can lift his arms today. Rain dumped on us all day. (about 8 hours ago from web)

David Slade tweets from Eclipse set

Image
David Slade is keeping us Twifans updated on the production of Eclipse ! Along with the stunning image of a mountain range above (tent scene, perhaps? *grins*) , he tweets: "Today preparation, and the day off, tomorrow editing." "I don't mind these pap pics, its just annoying when it stops us from shooting, or the images are completely unrepresentative of our shots." "Really really long paparazzi lenses make everything look terrible, one snuck close to set and was kicked off, another was arrested last week." "We had paparazzi on the ridge about 1/2mile away, their pictures will look bizarre they would have had to use 1000mm+ lenses." "Yes we were shooting Bella and Jacob's kiss on the mountain, its really a grueling emotional thing to have to shoot over and over." "http://twitpic.com/hilvk - 6am mountain. A black bear strayed close to us. We shoot solid through, sunburnt and tired we return at sunset."

David Slade Talks 'Twilight: Eclipse'

Image
FEARnet posted up an interview with David Slade, director of Eclipse . What will differ about Slade’s Twilight? “I don’t really know. We haven’t even started shooting yet.” While the director says he has a basic idea of what he wants to do with it, he is more concerned with telling a good story than being “different.” “It is darker, and there is a lot more action than the previous two,” he admits. “The third book is from Bella’s point of view, but the film will be more objective.” And just how will he do that? “We are going to focus on the origin stories of several characters, like Jacob, and show how Bella will decide between Edward and Jacob.” via New Moon Movie

David Slade Explains "Twilight" Comments

Image
The other day I posted about Eclipse director David Slade attacking Twilight . Well, he wrote to Twilight Lex to explain. “Dear Laura and Lori I would be grateful if you could distribute this statement to the fans of Twilight:I would like to address some statements that I made regarding Twilight. When I made these comments, I had neither seen the film nor read the books. I was promoting a comedy short film that I had made for Xbox and every pop culture subject was seen as a possible comedy target. I was being silly and none of the statements were from the heart. Of course, I have since seen the movie and read the books and was quickly consumed with the rich storytelling and the beautifully honest characters that Stephenie Meyer created. I would like to reassure everyone involved that I am invested in making the best film that I am humanly capable of, and that I am acutely aware of the power of the original books we serve. Please be rest assured this statement is absolutely from ...

Eclipse Director David Slade on Twilight - “Just Shoot Me”

David Slade, caught saying a lil' somethin' somethin' about Twilight back before he knew he was chosen as the director of ( ironically enough) Eclipse . It seems like Slade’s Twitter account has been deleted, which is a crying shame. Besides the loss of an interesting tweeter, another of the reasons this is unfortunate is that the deletion covers Slade’s tracks a little and hides a rather amusing little attack he launched on the Twilight franchise. That being the very same Twilight franchise Slade has subsequently signed up to, and for which he will be directing the third installment, Eclipse. Oops. So, the original Tweet might be gone but after the break we have audio of Slade ripping into Twilight and, if nothing else, its quite funny stuff… and I can’t help wondering what Summit Entertainment, the Twilight cast and Stephenie Meyer think about it?
