'Healing', Starring Xavier Samuels, on Astro A-List



Here's a movie you've probably never heard of, or maybe you have, starring Xavier Samuel (Riley Biers, Twilight: Eclipse). It's an Australian film, titled Healing. Healing was released in 2014 in Australia, and it currently holds a 73% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Viktor Kahdem is a man who has almost given up on life, sentenced to a low-security prison farm, a completely non-threatening environment where it is still felt that some individuals can be reformed. At Won Wron, Case Worker Matt Perry has established a unique program to rehabilitate broken men through giving them the responsibility for the rehabilitation of injured raptors - beautiful, fearsome proud eagles, falcons and owls. Against all odds, Matt takes on Viktor as his number one test case, introducing him to Yasmine, the majestic wedge tailed eagle with a 2-metre wingspan. If these two can tame each other, anything is possible. 

The movie stars Hugo Weaving, Don Hany, and Xavier Samuel. Xavier plays Paul, a guy who Viktor meets at the prison farm and took him to work at the aviary.

The movie is currently available on Astro's A-List film roster for January 2015. A-List (ch 456) is available on Astro on a subscription basis, going for RM15 per month for 8 critically-acclaimed films.

This may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I've seen this movie and I really liked it.

10 years after twilight , director Catherine Hardwicke opens up to The Daily Beast on new details on the film, some we've never known before. Ten years ago, the Twilight film franchise was an unknown quantity. In fact, Catherine Hardwicke, the director of the first Twilight, was surrounded by film executives who all but expected the vampire flick to fail. “Nobody thought this is a big, blockbuster franchise,” Hardwicke tells the Daily Beast. “There were very low expectations for Twilight, because every other studio had turned it down.
