New Moon is making lotsa money

Looks like New Moon would likely to be a huge, huge hit!
On Wednesday, NEW MOON launched No. 1 in France with 488,000 admissions for its first day from 751 resulting with $4.36M on Day One -- which is 4 times what TWILIGHT did (140,960 admissions and gross $1.15M).
From Fandango:
New Moon opens at midnight one week from tonight, but the film has already outsold its predecessor, Twilight, in total advance ticket sales on Fandango, the nation's leading movie ticketing destination. The new movie currently represents 75% of the site's ticket sales. Although thousands of next Thursday night's midnight showtimes are sold-out across the country (from Anchorage, Alaska to Winter Park, Florida), tickets are still available, while new showtimes are added regularly to keep up with the demand. "Ever since we started selling advance tickets to New Moon on August 31, the demand has been unstoppable, as the fan base just keeps growing every day," says Fandango Chief Operating Officer Rick Butler. "New Moon is tracking to be Fandango's #1 top advance ticket-seller of all time."
This triggers predictions from top media outlets.
L.A. Times predicts:
People with access to pre-release audience surveys say "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" will likely sell about $90 million worth of tickets this weekend and could possibly exceed $100 million. That would give it the No. 2 opening weekend of the year behind "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen." The first "Twilight" movie opened to $69.6 million on the same weekend last year.
The Twilight Saga: New Moon: $105 million. Yes, it’s a ridiculously high number and let me preface it with saying that even if New Moon grosses $85 million, it’s a hit. But the reason Twilight was such a phenomenon was because teenage girls saw the movie 6 and 7 times opening weekend. You don’t get that kind of repeat business at a free buffet. These people are obsessed. The only thing New Moon has going against it is its two-hour run time.
Will New Moon pass the RM2 million mark in Malaysia?
