Breaking Dawn goes from optioned property to script

The Twilight Examiner reports that Breaking Dawn is being scripted! Really?
For weeks, we've been speculating about whether this portion of the story of our favorite Twilight characters (one which many Twilight fans to be of more than mild importance) will be brought to the big screen.
It appears that crossed fingers can relax, now, though. Instead of being listed as "optioned property" on IMDb Pro, Breaking Dawn is now in "script," and "planning to start in late spring 2010."
The plans for production are, quite frankly, right on schedule, with the quickened pace of the Twilight series' production (a fact which appeases many of even the harshest critics as - we all well know - many of the characters' physical characteristics are not subject to change as are, say, the humans portraying them). Despite the potential obstacles for production of the film, it appears that Summit Entertainment and the good people behind The Twilight Saga: New Moon and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse are fully aware of the fact that most fans of the series would be quite angered by the failure to complete the series.
Still, this should be taken as simply a rumour until Summit issues an official press release...

10 years after twilight , director Catherine Hardwicke opens up to The Daily Beast on new details on the film, some we've never known before. Ten years ago, the Twilight film franchise was an unknown quantity. In fact, Catherine Hardwicke, the director of the first Twilight, was surrounded by film executives who all but expected the vampire flick to fail. “Nobody thought this is a big, blockbuster franchise,” Hardwicke tells the Daily Beast. “There were very low expectations for Twilight, because every other studio had turned it down.
