Twilight Saga's 'Eclipse' Could Have Drew Barrymore as Director

Wow.
Now that Chris Weitz ain't doing eclipse, Summit is looking for a new director. There are already reports on possible candidates:
Rumor has it, Drew Barrymore is one of the potential candidates for directing "Eclipse". The speculation has been chucked in by Entertainment Weeklywhen reporting that Summit Entertainment are looking forward to secure a director for the third installment of the "Twilight" saga.
"As Summit Entertainment looks to lock in a director for the third installment of the Twilight series, Eclipse, the company is talking to a select group of directors - including actress-turned-helmer Drew Barrymore," so wrote the trade. Despite the speculation, neither the studio nor the representatives for the 34-year-old actress have come up with a response.
Summit Entertainment first hired Catherin Hardwicke to direct their "Twilight" film, which went on to become a global success. The studio then immediately began work on the sequel, but has decided to replace Hardwicke with Chris Weitz (The Golden Compass).
Now the franchise is attracting big name directors, with both Juan Antonio Bayona (The Orphanage) and James Mangold (3:10 to Yuma) requesting to helm the third installment. And even though Bayona and Mangold have credibility, the studio is looking to go in a slightly different direction... Drew Barrymore.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Summit is in-talks with Barrymore, who recently finished work on her directorial debut called "Whip It!," starring Ellen Page.
