There's a new rumour coming around that Summit is looking into adapting the Eclipse novella, The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner, a.k.a. the Bree Tanner story. Cool, huh? There's already a rumor going around about a big screen adaptation of the Twilight novella The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner in the works at Summit. What's Playing is reporting that an insider emailed, "It goes without saying Summit want to continue this franchise... Tanner is the one they're looking at post-Breaking Dawn... It's too early to talk casting, and everything we're hearing is just speculation or off a wish list, but I don't believe they plan on using the original actress, Jodelle Ferland (left) , for the spin-off film. USA Today got an interview with the one and only Stephenie Meyer! She talks further on Bree Tanner, a newborn in Eclipse and the main character of the upcoming novella . Eclipse, the hotly anticipated third movie in the series featuring the steamy lovers, vampire Edward Cullen (played by heartthrob Robert Pattinson) and teenager Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart), opens June 30.  But first comes The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner: An Eclipse Novella , an offshoot of the Eclipse novel, to be released Friday at 12:01 a.m. It tells the story of what it's like to be a newly created vampire. "I had always wished people could read Bree's story before the movie came out," Meyer writes in remarks released today exclusively to Meyer's international publishers and only to USA TODAY in the USA.
