The Style of Eclipse

Tish Monaghan, the costume designer for Eclipse reveals some details about the outfits you see in the movie. • Robert Pattinson wanted to wear karate pants for the training sequence. “So we got him some karate pants, and it’s like the crotch hangs down to the knees, and I just thought, Ugh. Who’s gonna go for this? Because everything has to be approved by Summit,” Monaghan says. “We took them in a little bit, and they loved the karate pants. Who knew? I was so surprised.”

Breaking Dawn filming location confirmed, R-rating not likely

Image
More news about Breaking Dawn ! Summit has officially announced the filming locations for the movie, as well as the speculation about a possible R-rating. Twilight film studio Summit Entertainment has just confirmed the official filming locations for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn to be in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Vancouver, British Columbia. The decision to use Louisiana as a new filming location for this portion of the Twilight series was one which many had been guessing at over the past few months, and now we know that this information is for sure. The studio's announcement also confirmed that filming for the project will begin this fall (another popular conjecture). The news does not specify which sequences will be filmed in which of the two locations, but one might guess (though this is not official) that most of the outdoor sequences would take place in Vancouver for the sake of continuity while some of the indoor sets could be done in Louisiana (and, potentially, some...

No Summer Date for 'Breaking Dawn' ... yet

Image
So we all know that Breaking Dawn: Part 1 will be released on 18th November 2011. What we do not know (for sure) yet is when Part 2 will premiere. MTV has an update on this. In June, Summit Entertainment announced that “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” will be released as two separate films, with the first part arriving on November 18, 2011. Though no release date for the second part has been announced, the conventional wisdom has been that the second part would follow in the summer of 2012. Not so fast. Summit distribution chief Richie Fay told MTV News that no such decision has been made and that the studio is still exploring multiple release dates, not just ones in the summer. “We’ve targeted a number of dates, and we have yet to determine when it will happen,” Fay said. “We haven’t even determined that it will be the summer. It’s still the source of discussions.” Of course, studios always explore various release dates for pictures, especially established blockbusters, and th...

The weekend earnings number are in, and Eclipse pulled in US$262mil worldwide over the weekend. However, in the States, the movie made US$162mil in its first 5 days, which is lower than what New Moon pulled in (US$165mil) for the same time period. Still, it's excellent news for Summit, since Eclipse was made for US$68mil. Great news for the cast as well. The actors will get a raise for Breaking Dawn .  According to NY Magazine, Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner will each get $25 million for the two "Breaking Dawn" films. In addition, they will also receive 7.5% of gross revenue, which could mean that each actor will end up with about $41 million. The trio were paid $2 million for the first "Twilight" film, which grossed $396 million theatrically. Their salaries then went up to $12 million for "Twilight Saga: New Moon," which grossed $702 million. No word on how much the stars took in for "Eclipse," but it all ends wit...
