Here's an oldie but a goodie. Art of VFX posted up interviews (from 2012, FYI) with two guys who worked on the special effects for Breaking Dawn Part 1 and 2 . Eric Leven , the VFX Supervisor from Tippett Studio, worked on the wolves. How was the collaboration with director Bill Condon? It was the best part of the film; Bill was incredibly collaborative and really allowed us to take the wolf scenes where we wanted to go with them. He also treated the wolves as characters, and not props or “assets”. His direction was “Jacob seems sad, but should be concerned” instead of “Jacob’s head is too low”. This is absolutely the best way to work with a director and I think made the scenes with the wolves as good as they could be. What have you done on this show? Hey everyone! So I've gotten some DVD updates from our friends, Twilighters Malaysia . - No extended edition for Breaking Dawn Part 1 - No special edition either - Only standard editions are released - The probability of a complete boxset is low - Release date unknown; maybe by end of March or early April I'm hoping for the standard edition to be a 2-disc with commentary and extras. Remember that Razzie thing? Well, Kevin from MTV has written up an amazing commentary about this, and it's pretty good, I think. The final "Twilight" movie is not nearly as bad as the cynical majority would assume. Any award show, even one that highlights the worst of film, should approach the field of contenders with objectivity and an eye for honoring the best (or worst) contender regardless of public standing or politics. What's so shocking about the "Twilight" nominations is that the same principles that led to its many nods should have also qualified "John Carter," an equally easy film to lampoon that doesn't actually live up its disgraceful public image, which receive no nominations. So why the assault on vampires? "Breaking Dawn" swept for the same reason "The Return of the King" won in every category at the 2004 Oscars. It's awards-giving with an agenda.

Forbes has released its list of Best Actors for a Buck , and Kristen, Rob, and Taylor made the list. Ranking second on our list is Kristen Stewart. For every dollar she gets paid Stewart returns an average $40.60. Stewart is in the unusual situation of ranking high on this list and topping our Highest-Earning Actress list. Usually, if an actor is earning more than anyone else in Hollywood, it’s hard for him or her to be considered a bankable investment. That high salary means the films have to do spectacularly to offer profitable returns to the studios. Stewart was able to earn a ton over the last three years and offer a healthy return thanks to the Twilight franchise. Even though she was paid $25 million to star in the last two films, she was clearly worth the money. The Twilight films have grossed $3.3 billion at the global box office and the final film, Breaking Dawn Part 2, is still in theaters. Jamie Campbell Bower and Elisabeth Reaser was in Hong Kong recently to attend the premiere of Breaking Dawn Part 2. Elizabeth looks amazing in a purple dress, but I have no idea what's up with Jamie's hair. Side note, Lily Collins was also there. Remember the sheer Zuhair Murad dress Kristen wore to the Breaking Dawn Part 2 film premiere in L.A.? She's putting that dress up for a charity auction, to benefit the Robin Hood Foundation. The organization fights poverty in New York City, and hosted the 12.12.12 concert last week to benefit the victims of Hurricane Sandy. Kristen made an appearance at the concert, and donated the dress after that. In case y'all are interested, the dress currently stand at US$4000 at CharityBuzz. via twiexaminer

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' Music Branch announced 104 eligible film scores up for the Best Original Score award at next year's Oscars. The score for Breaking Dawn Part 2 by Carter Burwell made the early cut! Yay! Voting is to begin today. Unfortunately, no songs were up for Best Original Song from the movie. I was expecting A Thousand Years Part 2, but, nope. The closest any Twilight song ever got was Lykke Li's 'Possilibity' from New Moon. Other film scores up for the award, for films in which the Twilight cast also star in, include: On The Road - Gustavo Santaolalla, composer Snow White and the Huntsman - James Newton Howard, composer Deadline via Twifans

Michael Hogan discusses the possibility of an Ocsar nom for Kristen for her role in On The Road . He also interviewed her. The creative team behind the film wants the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to recognize Stewart for her role by nominating her for an Oscar for best supporting actress, and although she doesn't appear on any of the short lists I've seen, I think she's earned a place in the conversation. "On the Road" has its slow and meandering moments, but it roars to life when Stewart appears on screen.
